RASAM POWDER

Rasam powder is mandatory in every house of Karnataka. Even if there is no other curry or gravy for a meal , but rasam has become an authentic tradition in my house past many decades.The divine fragrance of the rasam powder is balanced by the coriander seeds & jeera seeds. Rasam once cooked at home becomes an addiction for everyone. Rasam powder can be used in many recipes which will be shown in the upcoming blogs.

Ingredients:

  • Coriander  / Dhaniya seeds            - 1 cup
  • Jeera seeds                                    - 1/2 cup
  • Black Pepper                                  - 1/4 cup
  • Fenugreek seeds / Methi seeds     - 1/8 cup
  • Mustard Seeds                               - 1 tsp

The ratio o the ingredients is 1:1/2:1/4:1/8

Procedure:


Step 1:

Dry roast coriander seeds.
Step 2 :

Dry roast jeera seeds.

Step 3:

Dry roast black pepper.
Step 4:

Dry roast Methi / Fenugreek seeds.
Step 5:

Dry roast mustard seeds.
Step 6:

Then, grind all the ingredients in a blender into a fine powder.
