Chole and Bhaji
Chole & Bhaji
Ingredients:
For chole:
- Onions - 2 large size
- Ginger finely chopped - 1 tsp each
- Green chilies - 2 slit
- tomatoes - 1
- Boiled chick peas(with pinch of salt & turmeric) - 2 cups
- Roasted dhaniya powder, anardhana powder, turmeric,red chilli powder - 1 tsp each
- Salt - as per the taste
- Boilied potatoes(with salt and turmeric) - 4 to 5
- Jeera, mustard seeds, chana dal, urad dal, turmeric, curry leaves, cashews - 1 tsp each
- Onions - 1
- Green chilies - 2
- Salt - as per the taste
Procedure:
Step 1:
Heat oil in a pan, add finely chopped ginger, onions & green chilies.
Step 2:
Once the onions have turned golden brown, add fully ripened tomatoes to it.
Once the tomatoes are soft, add salt, roasted dhaniya powder, turmeric, red chili powder and mix well.
Step 4:
Add boiled chick peas(along with bay leaf , tea bags and salt) to the pan and stir well.
Step 5:
At this point, smash half of the chickpeas to get the right consistency.
For Potato Bhaji:
Step 1:
heat oil and add cumin, mustard seeds, turmeric, hing to it.
Step 2:
Add chana dal , green chilies to it.
Step 3:
Add finely chopped or sliced onions to the oil.
Step 4:
Add boiled potatoes, salt.
Enjoy hot chole and potato bhaji with poori.
