Lemon pepper rasam

Lemon pepper rasam 

Ingredients:

For thadka:
  • Oil, Pepper corns, jeera seeds/ cumin seeds, 
          turmeric, pepper powder, curry leaves, green chilies        - 1 tsp each
  • Lemon juice                                                                        - juice of  2 large sized lemons 
  • Salt                                                                                     - As per the taste
  • Toor dal                                                                              - 1/2 cup

Procedure:

Step 1:
Heat oil in a pressure cooker and add all the thadka ingredients and allow them to splutter.

 Step 2:
Add green chilies and curry leaves into the cooker.

 Step 3:
Then add sufficient water an add lemon juice to it.


Step 4:
Add salt to it.


Step 5:
Add toor dal into the pressure cooker.


Step 6:
Allow it to cook for 3 whistles and hot lemon pepper rasam is ready.


Enjoy it with rice, it is very good for sore throat and cold as it has citrus juice and pepper in it.
