Batata vada / Aloo bonda

Ingredients:

  • Jeera seeds                   - 1/4 tsp
  • Potatoes                       - 4 to 5
  • Green chilies               - 2
  •  black salt                     -  1 tsp respectively
  • Besan flour                  - 1 cup
  • Salt                               - As per the taste,
  • Baking soda                 - 1 pinch
  • Red chili powder        - 1 tsp
  • Carrom seeds / ajwain   - 1/2 tsp
  • Oil to deep fry                

Procedure:

Step 1:
Heat a tsp of oil in a pan, throw in some jeera seeds and allow it to splutter.


Step 2:
Add green chilies, boiled aloos (with a pinch of salt & turmeric).


Step 3:
Add salt and a pinch of black salt and mix well.


Step 4:
Cook for 5 mins, turn off the stove, add lemon juice to it and allow  it to cool.


For the outer layer :
Mix besan, salt, carrom seeds, baking soda, red chilli powder, add water and mix it like a bajji batter(not too thick not too thin, pouring consistency).





Step 5:
Dip the prepared aloo bajji balls in the besan mixture and turn until it coats all the sides.


Step 6:
Deep fry all the aloo balls dipped in besan mixture until it turns golden brown.
