Coconut burfi

Ingredients:

  • Grated fresh coconut                                          - 1 cup ( it serves around 10 pieces)
  • Sugar                                                                     - 3/4 th cup
  • Ghee                                                                      - 1 tsp
  • Green cardamom powder / Elaichi powe       - a pinch

Procedure:

Step 1:
Add a tsp of ghee and roast the freshly grated coconut until it starts turning aromatic (no need of color change).

Step 2:
Add 2 cups of water and melt the sugar in it.(consistency is not necessary, it can be stirred only until the sugar dissolves completely.)
Once the sugar dissolves completely, add grated and roasted coconut into the boiling sugar water and stir continuously in medium to high flame until all the water is evaporated and it starts releasing the oils.

Step 3:
Brush a  plate with ghee and spread the coconut sugar mixture evenly.Dust the elaichi powder on top.


Step 5:
cut them into pieces once it cools down and enjoy.
