Tamarind poha

Ingredients:

  • Flattened rice  (thick)                                             - 2 cups
  • Rasam powder                                                         - 1 Tsp
  • Jaggery                                                                      - 1/4 cup
  • Salt, red chili powder                                              - 1 tsp
  • Curry leaves                                                             - 1 twig
  • Peanuts                                                                     - 1/4 cup
  • Sesame seeds                                                           - 1 tsp
  • Mustard seeds, jeera, hing, chana dal, urad dal   -1 tsp each

Procedure:

Step 1:

Blend flattened rice int a coarse powder.



Step 2:
Add rasam powder to the powdered flattened rice.


Step 3:
Add jaggery to it and mix well.


Step 4:
Now, add salt, red chili powder, turmeric, curry leaves, tamarind juice & mix all these well.Keep this mixture aside or 30 minutes.


Step 5:
For tempering:
Heat oil in a pan, add jeera seeds, mustard seeds, hing, urad dal, chana dal, curry leaves.


 Step 6:
Add the soaked mixture to the pan and let it cook for 10 - 15 mins.Keep stirring occasionally.


Step 7:
Cook until it changes its color and turns aromatic.
