Crispy Spicy snack / nippattu

Ingredients:

  • Roasted peanuts                         - 1 cup
  • Roasted chana dal                      - 1 cup
  • Kashmiri red chilies                   - 7 to 8
  • Rice flour                                     - 2 cups
  • Salt                                               - as per required
  • Hing                                             - a pinch 

Procedure:

Step 1:
Dry roast peanuts and grind them into a coarse powder.



Step 2:
Grind roasted chana dal into a fine powder along with Kashmiri red chilies.




Step 3:
Mix all the ground mixture with rice flour, salt and hing into a soft dough by adding little by little water.Also add melted hot ghee to mix the dough for the crisp texture.





Step 4:
brush a plastic sheet with oil and pat the small portions of dough into flat rounds with the palm.



Step 5:
Deep fry them in the hot oil until golden brown.
